In partnership with the Police Athletic League, Deerwood Rotary raised the funds for the full remodel of the Mallison Community Center, which provides a beacon of hope to the community by helping keep youth off streets, and out of trouble.
Through support from Deerwood Rotary, and member matches, we built a pavilion at Seamark Ranch at its founding. Seamark has provided foster care, schooling, and extensive childcare programs in Northeast Florida for over 25 years.
Deerwood Rotary, with matching grants from members, provided new classrooms and facilities for the Jacksonville School for Autism.
Partnering with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Deerwood Rotary provided the lead gift for the “Jaguars Den” at Wolfson Children’s Hospital, an interactive playroom for kids to help replace the isolation of a hospital with the connection of family, friends and celebrities.
Deerwood Rotary was instrumental in heading up the initial fundraising for the $2,000,000 state-of-the-art 9-hole golf club and practice facility for The First Tee, which promotes character development and life-enhancing values through the game of golf.
In support of the Trinity Rescue Mission, Deerwood Rotary holds an annual back-to-school shoe giveaway with our partner Shoe Carnival. This event provides a new pair of shoes and socks to over 60 kids in need each year.
